Seventh-Day Adventism

seventh-day-adventist-logo-text-200The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a denomination that grew out of the prophetic Millerite movement in the United States during the middle part of the 19th century. While it contests being a christian church, it has teachings that render it outside the realm of biblical christianity including their important doctrine of the 1844 Investigative Judgment. .The name of the Seventh-day Adventist denomination indicates its two main distinctive characteristics: Sabbath observance on the seventh day (i.e., Saturday) and an expectation that the end of the world is drawing near. There is a very strong adherence to the teachings of Ellen G. White who still is the most influencial individual in Adventism and the Adventist hold to the doctrine of annihalation as well as soul sleep. The offficial website of the SDA: www.adventist.org/
