I would like to welcome you to my website and I hope you will return again soon. There is various information here on Christianity and I’m sure some of it might be interesting to you while other sources of information might be confusing. The central message however of this entire website and of Christianity as a whole is the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is a message I would like to take a few moments to share with you!
The bible tells us much about who God is and who He isn’t. There are many attributes of God that are expressed in many beautiful ways. Many believe that God’s love is the most prevalent attribute discussed however the most emphasized attribute of God is in fact His Holiness. The term “holiness” signifies something that is separated from sin and hence from anything impure. The holiness of God denotes his perfect purity and righteousness. which sets Him apart from everything else. All we can truly understand is that God is so Holy, so pure, so undefiled that He cannot stand sin and literally hates sin.
You may have spoken to many Christians and visited many churches but have you ever been confronted with your sin? No one I know likes confrontation and let’s face it, most folks try to stay away from it. When I use the term “sin” what I am implying is that you have stumbled and broken the law of God Almighty. You have not lived up to the standard that God expects from each and everyone of us. The bible tells us that “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) God, being Holy, takes this very seriously and this sin must be judged and punished. Everyone who is born in this world has broken God’s law at one point in their lives and failed. This is unfortunately a state of fact! If you lie once that makes you a liar, if you steal once that makes you a thief and so forth. God sees you in your sin as a criminal! A criminal that is deserving of being judged and sentenced. This means we are all under the condemnation of God as sinners and there is a day that the bible tells us: So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. (Matthew 13:49-50) I can appreciate that this seems difficult to apprehend but it is the truth and I would not be honest if I didn’t tell you the truth. The reality is that we cannot appreciate the extent of the good news unless we understand the bad news. This is why I am happy to present to you the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ. I want to lovingly confront you with the fact that you see you need to be saved from your sin and that is the message I would like to present to you.
You are perhaps wondering what I mean by the term “saved”. I can tell you that there is no hidden meaning in the term since it means the same thing as our every day usage. The way you would use “saved” in a physical sense is very much the same definition as we use it in a spiritual sense. The Bible tells us that For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly (Romans 5:6). This is the situation of men in their sins, they are helpless and without any hope in themselves. They need someone to save them. What is most glorious and heartwarming about the message of Jesus Christ is that He acted in our helplessness. Christ Jesus died for the ungodly and in essence he died for criminals like you and me! In our weakness Christ died FOR us. The term “for” means He died on our behalf, he took our place and became a substitute for us. The penalty for our sins is an eternal death yet Christ took death upon Himself in offering His life as a sacrifice so that we could live. God then raised Him from the dead to demonstrate that death has no longer any power over Him or over those who are His people. Christ raised as one who was victorious over His enemies and the kingdom of God triumphed.
You see in our state at this very time we are deserving of the eternal punishment however Christ died for sinners and the result is our being brought to safety. You see the bible says that everyone who believes that Christ died as their substitute and has paid the debt we owe God for our sins then that person is saved from the judgment of God. You can know today that death will never effect you and that you have life eternal. Not only are we recipients of eternal life and escape the judgment of God but we are saved to something as well. There is a day coming when there will be a resurrection and the bringing in of the New Heavens & a New Earth to which the people of God will be with Him forever like in the beginning when men and women walked with God.
What to do?
If you want to have your sins forgiven and to have eternal life you must repent from your sin and believe on the Lord Jesus. Change your mind about who you are and see yourself as a sinner while acknowledging that God is Holy and Righteous. Believe that Christ died for your sins and rose from the dead and receive the fullness of God’s redemption. You will become something new and live the newness of life you have received.
