The bible has much to say about the subject of prophecy or eschatology (the study of the last things) and a study of the bible as a whole reveals that it is can be complex. Over the years various interpretations of the biblical information have produced a number of schools of thought. Most of these variations in thinking are named by where we place the millennium. There are three prominent schools of eschatology that have surfaced and generally a student of eschatology will fall within one of these categories. The three positions are Premillennialism, Postmillennialism and finally Amillennialism.
